SNRLabs in Computex, Taipei, June 2007
G’day, have you heard about Computex? It’s the 2nd largest IT show on earth -- held in Taipei. We lab rats exhibited at Computex Taipei 07 and this time it was a much more intimate affair for us compared to the scale of 3GSM 07and CTIA 07.
This event is geared towards Asian ODMs with fancy looking smartphones that make their accidental debuts on engadget. It was even cool to rub shoulders with them. The reception we received was overwhelming when we showed our stuff. At first people were skeptical until we demoed it and I remembered a few of our friends from Taiwan uttering ‘woo’. Wish I got a tape recorder and played it back to our guys back in Dallas! We definitely had the most traffic inside the TI booth.
The PC industry was out in full in Computex and Sudipta and I were updating our Christmas wish list and drooling over some ultra-sexy UMPC-s. The line between UMPC and smartphons is already converging and it was more evident this time in Computex with the multi-radio UMPC. BTW Those SSD hard drives are hot! Until next time!
