SNRLabs in PT Expo, Beijing, October 2007

We’re back! Back in China that is… to attend Beijing PT Expo. Talk about the crowds! It was packed. Beijing’s so different from Shanghai, it’s like LA and NYC. In Beijing I noticed the Mandarin spoken is very classic/original and they roll their tongues a lot.

As people move from inland China i.e. Beijing and moving towards the sea like the coastal cities i.e. Shanghai, there’s a distinct mandarin tongue rolling reduction. Beijing is a very cultured place with many historical places, and food there is awesome. A must-try is Peking Duck at Quanjude.

The clientele we met in PT Expo are very consumer-end focused and it gave a lot of insights into ULC phone requirements. We had an exclusive interview with China’s electronics media portal, EEFOCUS that were very excited about our technology and startup process and our first Chinese news article is now published!

Hua-wei and ZTE had a huge presence in PT Expo (Bigger than 3GSM Barcelona 07).  Hua-Wei’s US headquarter is actually very nearby to our office in Plano TX. Hua-Wei had a very good IMS infrastructure demo showing presence management and I’m looking forward to IMS services being introduced to consumers in US.
